So I just bought a 98 yard hank of thick 'n' thin type yarn that I have had my eyes on FOR EVAR. It's destined to be a belt. But, now what? Do I knit a narrow belt and then tie on the fringey bits? Do I attach them only in the front and back or all the way around? Should I make the belt itself out of fabric? How long should the fringies be?

What about something like the dancer is wearing in this video?. (the front/back panel) Do I have enough yarn? I don't have any gigantor needles though:/

Any thoughts and inspirations are much appreciated!

With 98 yards you might have enough to knit a little net thing on size 35s. It may be easier however to put extra-long pieces of fringe in the front and knot them into the net... You would probably have enough yarn for that if you attached it in 2 yard lengths (doubled over so they hang at 1 yard) around and 3 yards where you want the panel.
